We’re going to launch in with the assumption here that your Easter weekend threw in a fair few number of opportunities to give your mates the following patter: “I partied so hard this weekend, I felt like Jesus rocking out that tomb.” If it wasn’t that nutshell of religious appropriation, it was no doubt some other knackered one liner. Some of you likely began today with the glazed expression of one sorry sausage, but here’s something to put that spark back in as we selfishly override your suffering and bring it back to Ibiza. Sun, sea, clubs, boat parties…you know the drill.
Pukka Up boat party kicks off Saturdays
Pukka Up is an ocean-bound bash that’s never short of queuing clubbers, and now that Saturdays have been added to the calendar, we know we’re guaranteed another scorcher summer. The first of Pukka Up’s weekend cruisers heads out on 10 June, and from then you´ve got until 23 September to experience this crew’s perception of what partying truly means. Two tickets types are on sale, with the boat party tickets also giving you a pre-party at Rio, and the package ticket throwing in entry to Tropical Wonderland at Eden on Saturday night and Cuckoo Land at Ibiza Rocks Hotel on Sunday afternoon.
Laidback Luke confirms techno dates at Eden
Depending on their age, people associate Laidback Luke with different sounds. If EDM is where you’ve been getting your music licks for the past few years, then he’s a name heavily associated with the genre. You might have also been introduced to him during the glory days of electro house. Or if we go back even further and step into the ´90s you might know him for bashing out seriously good house and techno, and that’s what he’ll be doing in Ibiza this summer. If you caught his set in December last year at New York’s Flash Factory, you might be especially excited by this news. His techno set in New York hammered out tracks from Reset Robot, Sasha Carassi, Truncate and Luigi Madonna – he knows his stuff. On Friday 30 June and Friday 28 July, he’ll be at Eden with the Taste The Punch gang, and there’s your chance to check out Laidback Luke’s origins in dance music.
Rebels Cave at Sankeys on Fridays
The Capadi Rebels will be hosting their own night of quality underground beats this summer. Cracking out the goods from Friday 23 June to 29 September, you’ll have this lot for 15 dates. For a titbit on the crew’s history, in the past 8 years they’ve been running one of the most successful underground boat parties in Ibiza. Rebels Cave also worked alongside Steve Lawler and the VIVa Warriors parties, hosting the Spektrum at Sankeys on Sundays. On top of it all, their Sunday radio show on Ibiza Global Radio has pulled in a good following. Deep house and tech house is the kind of sonic sauce you’ll be getting throughout their summer.
Richy Ahmed takes FOUR THIRTY TWO party to Privilege
Over the past few seasons, clubbers have piled into DC10 to catch a piece of Richy Ahmed. While we can only assume, he’ll be on Circoloco’s and Paradise’s line-ups at some point this summer, he’s also coming in with his very own one-off event at Vista Club. The move comes after selling out parties in the UK, and we’ll be getting our taste for it on Thursday 1 June. Taking care of tunes, head honcho himself Richy Ahmed will be playing an extended set, and he’ll be accompanied by Mathew Jonson, DJ Rossko and Ryan O’Gorman.
Andrea Oliva & Friends join Eric Prydz
Eric Prydz’s residency was HUGE news for us and you when it hit. So, imagine the reaction when we found out that Andrea Oliva & Friends would also be getting a spot at Hï Ibiza on Tuesdays. He’ll take over the Club – what used to be known as the Terraza – and Eric Prydz will have the Theatre – once the Discoteca. Every Tuesday from 20 June to 22 August.
Do Not Sleep residency at Sankeys
This week Do Not Sleep announced a move to Sankeys and the opening party line-up. Now in its third year, the next chapter for the no-frills techno and party is deep in that basement. DJ Harvey’s Mercury Rising residency back at Pikes
Harvey Bassett has signed up for a third consecutive season, and this year he’s getting involved with the beloved venue in a much bigger way. Mercury Rising embarks on its eight-week stint from Monday 7 August onwards, and Bassett has also been appointed Cultural Attache, with his increased role including overseeing the soon to be launched Pikes Records.
Nick Warren at Boutique Hostal Salinas with one-off special
The UK veteran is getting involved in the opening week action as he heads to Boutique Hostel Salinas for another sunset session. On Tuesday 23 May, he’ll return to the lush venue within the Salinas nature reserve, and joining him are Andy Woods, Gustin, and one very special guest that’s yet to be announced. It all begins at 5pm, and entry is free.
Dance 88/89 back with the nostalgia at Sankeys
Acid house and Balearic beats will be back in focus at Sankeys from Wednesday 7 June. We were gunning for this residency to make a heady return in 2017, and we know clubbers who pounced on this nostalgic ride were feeling the same. We’ll be drenched in the kind of sweat that pumped the second Summer Of Love full of party spirit and we’ve got 16 dates to do so. On top of that, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the days when Paul Oakenfold, Danny Rampling and Nicky Holloway came to Ibiza and discovered the music at Amnesia listening to the legendary Alfredo. It does not get much better than celebrating with the original spirit that sparked the movement.
elrow season line-ups dished
The mania, the magic and the chaos that underlines elrow fever is back this year, and as you should know by now, it’s happening at Amnesia. The artists for 2017’s confetti-charged carnage are on regular rotation with the elrow crew, including Skream, Patrick Topping, Eats Everything, Anja Schneider, Art Department, Matador, Ilario Alicante Cuartero, and residents De La Swing and Eddy M. FUSE founder Enzo Siragusa will be spinning across all dates, and he’ll be joined by fellow FUSE residents Seb Zito, Archie Hamilton, Rossko and Rich Nxt, and some very special guests.
Maceo Plex unleashes 2017 season line-up
Before he embarked on his first residency last summer, Maceo Plex announced that he’d be giving clubbers a taste of artists who don’t regularly frequent the White Isle, and he did just that. This summer, he’s in with the same mindset by giving us a line-up loaded with DJs and producers who’ve decorated Ibiza line-ups regularly over the years, some who might be unknown to many, and others who have either never or rarely played at Pacha. His savage season line-up includes Adam Beyer, Virginia, Steffi, Pearson Sound, Stephan Bodzin (live), Ben Klock, Rødhåd, Mano Le Tough, Levon Vincent, Henrik Schwarz, Moodymann, Recondite, Derek Plaslaiko, Tale Of Us, Jon Hopkins, Palms Trax, Dekmantel Soundsystem, Röyksopp and Aurora Halal, among more.
New residency announced at U R with Armin van Buuren
Dutch powerhouse duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano have confirmed that they’ll be bashing out the bass under Armin van Buuren’s night, U R. Their 13-week residency will be over in the Club (formerly known as the Terraza) and the first date to dice with this duo is the opening on Wednesday 21 June.
Amnesia completes opening party line-up with Marco Carola
Techno don Marco Carola is the mixing maestro to bring that much-awaited line-up to completion. Others on that tantalising roster are Erick Morillo, Patrick Topping, Gorgon City, Jackmaster, Claptone, Hannah, Cuartero, Mar-T, Luca Donzelli and Amnesia residents Caal and Les Schmitz. This one is normally pinned as a marathon session, so get testing your limits, folks.
Reverb boat party brings in the goods
Reverb is giving you good reason to make sure your ocean clubbing gear is decent. Running from Wednesday 31 May to 20 September, it’ll be the only boat party to include a swim stop at sunset, and the package deal ensures that you’ll be clubbing for two days and nights. If you choose to go in for the whole lot and get the absolute maximum out that ticket, you’ll have Audio Rehab at Eden, We Are Rockstars or Craig David’s TS5 pool party at Ibiza Rocks Hotel, and Afterlife at Vista Club.
Be Crazy! returns to Lio with first line-up
Jean Claude Ades is bringing in another season of killer tunes to the glamorous venue for a sixth season. The tech house master retains his +1 concept meaning he’ll will have some of the finest electronic music talent by his side at the stylish Marina location.
